| Race for Cake |
| When I saw that the Race of Grace gave home made cakes to all the age group winners, I put this race on my schedule! With a plethora of races to choose from on the same weekend, I thought my chances for getting a cake were pretty good. Race day was warm with a chance of rain and the course was a little hilly for a downtown race. The rain stayed away and the race was dominated by youngsters, with high school cross country athletes taking 4 of the first 5 spots. I was fortunate enough to be the first "old guy" (over 30 :)) to finish even though my time was not quite what I was hoping for. I collected a great chocolate cake and an RRO gift certificate, making this an extra rewarding afternoon! |
