| Race for the Cure |
| This was my 5th Race for the Cure in a row, so I have a mini-streak going. As usual, the weather was hot and muggy for the race, but the early start meant that most of the course was in the shade. The first mile is mostly downhill, so it was my fastest of the race, but I think I moved up quite a bit in the finish order in the hillier 2nd and 3rd miles. This turned out to be my fastest Race for the Cure yet, and my 2nd in my age group had me feeling pretty good. I was a little disappointed, though, to find out that this race only gives awards to first place in each age group, and a little more disappointed to learn that I was only 5 seconds behind the guy who was 1st in my group. I don't know that I could have run 5 seconds faster, but maybe if that guy had run with a big bulls eye on his back... |
