This is my second year doing this race. It's located in my hometown of Portsmouth, NH. It's a huge race that always sells out at 2000. It's part of a seacoast series of races and therefore brings out some great competition.
The conditions were nearly perfect. It was in the 60's. Some humidity but nothing like Raleigh. The 9am start was a little late but the sun stayed away.
This was my first race in nearly 6 months so I knew my splits would take a hit. And they did in the middle of the race but I managed to turn it around for the last 2 miles and have even negatives splits of 6:28.
I finished 6th female overall and took 3rd AG because the entire top 6 women were in the 30-39 age group. Nice.
Overall, a great race, cool medal and a welcome back to the racing scene.
I miss the 5k.
