| Another hot race despite the 7:30 am start. I should be getting used to this but I'm not! I went into this race with no expectations due to the heat. It reminded me a lot of the Capital City 10K. Hot, hilly and all downtown in Durham. I kept a decent pace for the first two miles then had to slow down some for miles 3 and 4. I picked it up at the end especially as I saw Kim Certain come around me in the last 200 meters! We both started sprinting like mad towards the finish but I could not outkick her! She ended up beating me by 3 seconds and got first masters! |
